There is a time honoured tradition of learning Martial arts through the study of the natural world and the varied creatures that live there. Arts such as Tiger, Crane, Monkey, Snake and Praying Mantis are all well known and have been studied and practised for hundreds of years. As far as is known peafowl have never inspired a martial art. There is probably a good reason for this in that peafowl are vegetarian, gentle of disposition and are not equipped with bone crushing talons or flesh ripping beaks. Even their wings are rather short and unsuited to anything other than very short flights. So if you wish to practice a deadly fighting style then do not look to the peacock.
However, peafowl do have a highly developed sense of self-protection and when the author had the privilege of observing a friendly peahen over a period of several months it became clear that the bird applied simple but highly sophisticated principles to ensuring her safety and avoiding danger. If your requirements are to keep yourself out of danger and avoid conflict situations without resorting to violence then peafowl provide a very good example to emulate.
So this is peacock kung fu, transmitted directly to the author by a natural master (or mistress) of the art. Nothing physical to learn, no fighting techniques to master, Just four simple principles to absorb and then practice in everyday life.
